Tending a large herd of wild horses out in the Montana wilderness, a young couple, each having fled home for one dark reason or another, are visited by their future selves. During the harsh winter, their employer files for bankruptcy, abandoning them and the horses to starvation. To survive, the couple takes drastic measures regardless if it means hurtling toward who they’ve already become.
Bored and unhappy Ted and Sandy go to the theatre to see a play, The Mirror Box. During the performance Ted sees a clown. The clown, according to the actors in The Mirror Box, is not a character in the play. Ted, after being assaulted by the clown and seeing the Devil, again questions the actors. They have no answers and Ted fears for his sanity. But when one of the actors is also assaulted by the vindictive clown everyone is caught in the surreal vortex of what is reality and what is The Mirror Box.
A young man, Neil, has the capacity to see the future. In a vision he sees his father dying in a flood on the old family farm. Neil also sees himself dying in the attempt to save his father. Regardless of the seemingly inescapable consequences, he journeys to the farm in hope of altering the future.

Detective Morris arrives the night Rachel, Chris’s girlfriend, returns from a trip. Eventually both Morris and Rachel are implicated as killers. And Chris isn’t missing, or murdered, but seeking answers.
